Another day, another Chateau.

No, we haven’t become blas?? about our travels, in fact we value our opportunities more each day, if that is possible, but a detailed description of today would read a lot like yesterday and a lot like lots of our other days- an exhilarating bike ride through beautiful French rural countryside, one pretty village after another and an amazing Chateau as the piece-de-resistance at the end.

That was as true today as yesterday, except today we arrived in Villandry and the chateau was probably the most livable grand residence we have seen in France, not surprising seeing as the owner family actually still do live here, at least in part. Oh, and the garden is as extraordinarily ordered as yesterday’s was quirky. An overwhelming expanse of manicured beds, hedges and systematic planting, yet surprisingly not “stuffy” or stilted- a wonderful garden and another highlight among highlights. If you get the chance, visit. I think you will love it!
