The guests had come from a dozen countries around the world, the celebrant from Zimbabwe, the venue was a chateau in France and the day had dawned sunny, warm and not a cloud showed in the sky… it was time for Mel & Chris’s wedding!

We gathered on the ancient tennis court, surrounded by birdsong and trees. As well as the usual wedding finery everyone sported feathers and flourishes, courtesy of Lynne, the bride’s mum. The groom arrived dressed in purple satin and the one year old best man arrived on a wheelbarrow- we knew we should expect the unexpected!

Mel arrived, music played, the bride and groom beamed and we were greeted by Dzumi, the celebrant who introduced a hymn of soulful reflection… cleverly masquerading as, “You Got The Funk”. What followed was unforgettable and can’t really be captured in photos, even more than 50 of them- but I have tried!
