Washington #1…

Our first day in Washington: a rambling walk through the American capital, taking in the familiar and unfamiliar locations, a myriad of personalities and the unique aura: all up close and personal!
In no particular order…
The Capitol, White House (by day and dusk), Smithsonian Air & Space, The Library of Congress, a little dress shop, The Reflection Pool, World War 2 Memorial, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, thousands of tourists (although everything is so spread out we were rarely in a real crowd), President Obama, a community garden, hundreds of Secret Service, a cop smoking a cigar (really!), strict (but always polite) security guards, police riding Harley’s on to monuments to tell people to get off, the Vietnam Memorial, leafy suburbs, the Museum of Native Americans and a sculpture garden.
That’s probably why we are a bit tired tonight.
