“Watch out for the buggies…”

Day two of our touring around State College’s surrounding district took us by car to the town of Belleville in the aptly named Big Valley, or more exactly, the Kishacoquillas Valley. Belleville, the small neighbouring towns and the many farms have a sizeable Amish community. Yesterday the owner of the restaurant where we had lunch urged us to, “mind the buggies”, and we did indeed encounter several. Mainly, we found friendly and quiet locals, beautiful countryside and the last traces of autumn splashed across the valley.
