On Sunday Hayley treated us to a tour of the nearby wineries in the Niagara region- yes they make wine up here!
Although generally a bit sweeter than what we are used to, if you search around you can find some respectable producers. Luckily, Ravine, the best winery we found, also had the friendliest staff, prettiest location and a great little cafe specialising in local produce (although the King Island cheese we found in the grocers hardly qualifies as local!) A great spot!
We followed up by wandering around Niagara On The Lake… no waterfalls but, as towns go, a lot prettier than its better known name-sake.
Our last outing was to Dundas, a short drive away from Burlington. Really good coffee and a fantastic cheese shop (with local Ontario cheese mostly, not Tasmanian) were the highlights… once again, a great spot!
