Westward, westward, always westward…
Back on the road for the journey to cross into South Australia: destination Port Augusta and a return to the coast! Highlights of the day included:
Lunch in a converted cinema decorated with movie posters, banjos, Blues Brothers and Marilyn Monroe statues, an army Jeep and assorted cars and motor bikes.
A water-polo and ice-hockey playing, AFL convert, Fabio look-alike German in a Pajero.
The drive through Mt. Remarkable’s spectacular hills which separate the inland plains from Spencer Gulf.
Pub Coffee in a tiny town where the train didn’t stop any more, the rain didn’t fall any more, tourists steal the ANZAC wreaths and you pay $1 to see the museum collection only to find out it is exactly the same junk that decorates the rest of the pub and…
Happy Hour at the Hotel Augusta, watching the full-moon rise and getting to know the hotel’s resident dog!
Oh, and Port Augusta turned out to be a pretty nice town too. Bonus!
