Two wheels to Dunsborough

When we planned our little sojourn to Western Australia we decided to bring our bicycles and explore Margaret River’s many attractions via our favourite gentle-touring transport. Across the Nullarbor they lay tucked in amid our camping gear, bags and supplies ready for our arrival.

We’ve already had a great day cycling to Fremantle from Perth https://janandian.wordpress.com/2013/05/04/freo-way-to-go/ but now we had arrived at the gateway to Margaret River we would unleash the beasts for a real assault… except the weather forecast for the rest of the week includes words such as rain, storm, gale-force, severe warning, pestilence and Armageddon. Oh well, plans often have to be tweaked.

However… today was perfect! And if we are only getting one actual riding day we had better make sure we make the most of it! So, Busselton to Dunsborough and return: 54 km of cycling heaven! One of the best and prettiest cycle paths we have ever ridden (I was even tempted to compare it to our Perfect Day in Salzburg!) Along the coast and through the trees with only a few kilometres along the highway, no wind, pleasantly mild, careful drivers and a pretty destination. Worth the drive across for sure!20130507-000839.jpg20130507-000926.jpg
