Driving, Rain..

Today we drove and it rained. Pretty much it, really. Very nice driving, mind you… boy is W.A. rich in scenic delights! The forests are simply majestic, quite wonderful, and it is a joy to sweep around a bend or crest the rolling hills amid the towering giants.

Good for the soul! Must return one day to hike through the forest trails, but today we couldn’t- which brings me to…
It rained. Lots. And lots. Sometimes steadily, sometimes in torrents. At Cape Leeuwin lighthouse it stung like icy needles, but that was OK because you felt like you were manning the light and had to go out in the tempest to warn a passing ship about the rocks because the light had failed. Or something like that. Except that it was daytime… and there weren’t any ships, of course. Not that it mattered because it felt like that and it was kind of cool!

Oh! And Cape Leeuwin is totally amazing too because its where the Indian and Southern oceans meet! If you look really closely at the photos you can see the thin dotted line. It’s there somewhere…
