Back on the road (after riding the train from New York to Lancaster in the heart of Pennsylvania) with no particular plan or direction in mind. We had intended to cycle around the Amish country surrounding Lancaster four years ago but abandoned the idea after Hurricane Sandy hit. (We seem to be accompanied by disasters whenever we come to the States- this time it was the election 😳) With a car and not bikes we realised that exploring was going to be a lot quicker that our previous plan so our adventures took us further afield, across Pennsylvania, in fact, through the beautiful rolling hills and farmland we had loved so much four years ago. We even managed to reach Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater house which had eluded us in 2012.
So, in no particular order: Lancaster, Hershey (not as enjoyable as you might imagine), Somerset, the Flight 93 (9/11) Memorial and Fallingwater.
